Useless Dads ?

Why do so many women think that Dads are useless with kids? Over the course of the last 14 months where women quite clearly signalled to me their astonishment when I successfully changed a nappy, prepared baby food or dressed our daughter in matching colours and in full.

I find this attitude very annoying and overly predjudiced. Why shouldn't fathers be able to properly care for a small child? Why does giving birth is the ultimate reason for being the perfect parent? I don't get it.

Milly October 2004

It is just a pleasure to see her growing up!

Milly and I just have another weekend to the two of us while Mummy sorts out the house in Scotland. While I went through some pictures of her the other day, I realised how much her hair has grown over the last 4 weeks. She is becoming a confident walker very fast and seems to be absoltely fascinated by telephones (Haju? Hajuuu?).

linkable

  • Eric Meyer - a web Pro. Apple pays tribute to the master of CSS et al on their website.
  • I might have mentioned him on here quite a few times - but if you haven't seen them yet, then I can only recommend you immediately go and see Andy Budd's latest additions to his photo gallery. Fabolous !
  • and yet another cherry - Gray Woodhouse's Travelogue. A wonderful collection of travel writings and anecdotes.

nice iPhoto side effect

Something interesting I discovered in iPhoto yesterday. A couple of months ago, our friend Brian came back from his 4 month trip to India. He downloaded all pictures from his digital camera nto our iBook and gave us a little presentation of his holiday memories.

When I checked the last 12 months" feature in iPhoto yesterday, I saw his images again - only this time his photos were all thrown in chronological order into the same big album as ours! What a surprise! Turns out that he got his Taj Mahal pictures taken around the same time when I stood in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. And when it was Milly's 1st birthday, he visited the temples in Cambodia.

Interesting to see what such a feature can cause
